Date and time are added automatically, and a free-text note is always available at the end of an entry — so you only define what you want to track.

A numeric value with a unit you enter yourself (kg, cm…). This is the field type that powers the trend charts. Ready-made templates work differently: the app sets the unit automatically based on your region — glucose in mg/dL or mmol/L, insulin in international units (IU). The field is locked, with a padlock next to it.

Intensity
Slider
A value on a scale you set yourself — Min, Max, Step, and an optional unit. For ratings like intensity 0–10 or pain 1–5.

Small buttons you build yourself — and you can select more than one. For triggers, stool type, mood, symptoms: anything with a fixed set of options.

Templates are fully editable. Use a ready-made one as a starting point, then add or remove fields and rename them to fit your pet — the journal is yours.

In a journal with a glucose field, set Min and Max for the target zone, and Whispet draws a green band on the chart and colors every point — green when it's in range, a warm tone when it strays. You spot the moment a reading drifts from the norm at first glance.
Consult with your veterinarian about the safe glucose range for your pet. Leave empty if not yet determined.
The numbers here are an example, not guidance. The safe range is set by your vet, separately for each animal — it depends on the species, age, condition and treatment. Never copy values from this page or from anyone else's chart.
Glucose chart over 30 days: the first six readings (4–14 July) sit between 15 and 19 mmol/L, above the 5–12 mmol/L target zone. From 18 July the values drop to 9–12 mmol/L and stay inside the target zone. Min 7.8, average 11.8, max 17.2 mmol/L.
